Occlusal Splints, Bruxism or tooth grinding can be extremely detrimental to the teeth, the jaw joint (TMJ) and the surrounding muscles. A custom fitted “occlusal splint” can protect the teeth and relax the muscles giving symptomatic relief for TMJ pain & headaches. They also protect the teeth from destructive tooth wear that occurs during parafunctional bruxing, often done subconsciously when we are sleeping.
